Exterior
Exterior Styling
Bold lines, body-side molding and a powerful looking grille give the LX a
commanding presence, while details like chrome-plated door handles provide an
air of refinement.
20-in Alloy Wheels
Standard 10-spoke, 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels
[1] give the LX a more aggressive appearance.
A matching full-size spare is also included.
[1]
20-in performance tires are expected to experience greater tire wear than
conventional tires. Tire life may be susbstantially less than 20,000
miles, depending upon driving conditions.
Power Rear Door
With the rear door's clamshell design, it's easier than ever to load all your cargo.
Buttons located in the vehicle's interior, as well as the key fob, open and close the upper tailgate with just one touch.
The lower tailgate can be manually raised and lowered aiding cargo access.
Dual-Swivel Adaptive Front Lighting
With the Dual-swivel Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS)[1], at speeds above 6 mph, your headlamps turn to help illuminate curves ahead.
Depending on steering input, the headlamps can rotate up to 9 degrees in a left turn and up to 4 degrees in a right turn.
During daylight hours, daytime running lights help make the LX more visible to oncoming motorists.
Automatic headlamp washers can also be set to deploy when you use the front windshield wipers, removing dirt and debris, helping to ensure a clear view of the road ahead. [1]
The Adaptive Front Lighting System can help improve vision at night.
However, conditions such as dirty windshield, rapidly changing light conditions
or hilly terrain will limit effectiveness so the driver may need to manually
change the high beams from on to off. See your Owner's Manual for details.
Backup Camera
Backing out of tight spaces is much easier with the backup camera
[1].
When the vehicle is placed in reverse, a tiny camera located above the rear
license plate provides a view of what's behind, which is conveniently displayed
in full color on the Navigation System
[2]
screen.
[1]
The backup
camera does not provide a comprehensive view of the rear area of the vehicle.
You should also look around outside your vehicle and use your mirrors to confirm
rearward clearance. Cold weather may limit effectiveness and view may
become cloudy.

Availability and accuracy of the information provided by the Navigation System
or any XM services mentioned (if installed) are dependent upon many factors.
Use common sense when relying on information provided. Services not
available in every city or roadway. Periodic Navigation updates available
at additional cost. Please see your Navigation System Owner's Manual or
contact XM for details.
Tow Hitch
With the LX's 7,000-pound towing capacity
[1], the
integrated tow hitch allows you to haul a variety of items, including boats and
horse trailers.
[1]
Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up
properly and you have any necessary additional equipment. If gross trailer
weight is above 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg), it is necessary to use a weight
distributing hitch with sufficient capacity. Do not exceed any Weight
Ratings and follow all instructions and cautions from your trailer-hitch
manufacturer and vehicle Owner's Manual. The maximum amount you can tow
depends on the total weight of any cargo, occupants and available equipment.
Front Wiper Deicer
When the deicer is activated, a heating element in the lower windshield aids in melting any ice that has accumulated on the wiper blades.
Wide-view Front and Side Monitor
The LX is the first in its class to offer an available Wide-view Front and Side
Monitor
[1] that
helps enhance visibility when driving around corners and while parking.
Operated at speeds less than 7.5 mph, a camera incorporated into the front
grille of the LX helps you see around blind corners, such as when exiting a
parking garage or when maneuvering around a tight corner. A second camera
located underneath he passenger side-mirror provides a view of the ground next
to the vehicle, which makes parking alongside a curb easier. Both views
can be displayed simultaneously on the navigation screen when the system is
activated.
[1]
The Wide-view Front and Side Monitor does not provide a comprehensive view of
the front and side areas of the vehicle. You should also look around
outside your vehicle, and use your mirrors to confirm clearance. Cold
weather will limit effectiveness and view may become cloudy.<>
Smart Access
The SmartAccess
[1]
[2]
system includes two key fobs that let you securely lock or unlock your doors and
start the engine without using traditional keys. The key fobs also allow
you to open the rear liftgate. An available key card is also included that
fits neatly in your wallet, similar in size to a credit card.
[1]
The SmartAccess system may interfere with some pacemakers or cardiac defibrillators. If you have one of these medical devices, please talk
to your doctor to see if you should deactivate this system.
[2]]
The engine immobilizer is a state-of-the-art anti-theft system. The key transmits an electronic code to the vehicle.
The engine will only start if the code in the transponder chip inside the key matches the code in the vehicle’s immobilizer.
Because the transponder chip is embedded in the key, it can be costly to replace.
If you lose a key, your Lexus dealer can help, or you can find a qualified independent locksmith to perform high security key
services at www.aloa.org.
Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
While cruise control is standard on the LX, the available Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
[1] system automatically adjusts the throttle and applies the brakes as
needed to maintain a pre-set following distance from the vehicle traveling in
front of you. Once the system determines the lane is clear or traffic has
sped up, it will return the LX to its original cruising speed.
[1]
Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is designed to assist the driver and is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving practices. Please see your Owner's Manual for important cautions and instructions.
